Marouane Chamakh ( مروان الشماخ‎, born on 10 January 1984) is a Moroccan footballer who plays for Bordeoux as a striker.
Although born and raised in France, he chose to play international football for Morocco due to his Moroccan parentage.

Chamakh made his international debut for Morocco in 2003 and was part of the side that reached the 2004 African Cup of Nations Final. Chamakh’s popularity in Morocco soared when he netted a last-gasp equalizer against North African rivals Algeria in the quarter-final tie which Morocco went on to win 3-1.

Since 2002, Chamakh has played for Bordeoux. His 14 goals in the French League in 08-09 season helped them win the title, ending Olympique Lyon's seven year domination.
